Arko Cool Shaving Cream

Another cream from this Turkish brand.

Used with: Rapira Swedish Supersteel (4th shave)

I squeezed a small amount from the tube and started to lather, then decided to add a drop more. I was able to build a good coating and had more than enough for my usual routine. The blade tugged a lot during the first pass. Slickness felt pretty good and I didn’t pick up any nicks. My neck was perfectly adequate, with any roughness limited to my usual trouble-spots. On my face, there was one area of roughness on my chin WTG. ATG there were a couple of areas on one of my cheeks, but otherwise resistance was pretty minimal. Post shave feel was underwhelming. I did try and pick up the scent, but to me it was just a generic flavour that seemed similar to all Arko cream. A pretty good shave.

I was expecting something a little different from this one due to the word ‘Cool’ in the name. I didn’t get any cooling sensation during the shave though. Checking the ingredients I couldn’t find any mention of menthol either, so not sure where it’s supposed to come from. Other than changing the colour on the packaging it seemed the same as the rest.

It lathers easily, you have to give Arko that. The fragrance was uninspiring but not off-putting. As I said, it smells very similar to others in the range.

It appears to be a carbon copy of the other shaving creams they offer and gives you solid but unspectacular performance.
