Arko Hydrate Shaving Cream

7 Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (7)

Another in Arko’s range of shaving creams

A quick review as this is one, albeit another flavour, that I have looked at in the past.

Used with: Gillette Stainless (4th shave)

I squeezed a small amount onto my synthetic brush and face lathered. I didn’t get as much volume as I expected and the consistency was a little below par, but a bit of water helped for the second coating. Slickness felt pretty good. I did pick up a couple of small nicks, low down on my neck, but barely noticeable. My neck was pretty good. Despite putting in extra effort, I was still left with some roughness along my jawline and in one other spot though. Nice and smooth WTG on my face. ATG there were some areas of significant resistance but no real roughness. Post shave, softness was okay but it was very dry. I got a brief whiff of the fragrance at the start but it soon vanished. A good shave.

No idea how to describe the fragrance on this. It’s a touch floral. Quite pleasant to be fair. Its not particularly strong and doesn’t hang around, so hard to be offended.

This seemed to follow the same line as the other Arko creams I’ve used: a reasonable budget performer but not something that’ll blow your skirt up.
