Geo. F. Trumpers Limes Skin Food

How does this legend stack up?

Trumper’s Skin Food has a bit of a reputation, so I was keen to try it. Mine was part of a sample pack so I didn’t get a choice of scents. Lime wouldn’t have been my pick given the option, but there aren’t many to choose from either. It’s not the sort of thing I want to smell of, not that it hangs around for too long.

It went on easily enough and wasn’t greasy. A little goes a long way too. It’s pretty runny, closer to a liquid than a lotion or a balm.

I didn’t think it added much. I’d take it over the Skin Tonic, as this seems to have a bit more substance at least, but it wasn’t especially soothing not particularly moisturising.

If you look at the ingredients this is basically glycerine with fragrance. It goes on okay, but didn’t really help post shave feel. The scent was nice and strong (initially at least) if that’s what appeals.

At the full price I’d want a lot more though. Get a proper balm at a much better price, that would be me advice.
