A classic fragrance from this US range.
This was another quick review of a product I have previously looked at it in more detail.
Used with: Racer Super Stainless (3rd shave)
I bloomed this before use, sitting it in the basin as I filled the sink. I wasn’t sure I’d loaded enough on my synthetic brush as it didn’t throw off suds to the same extent as other variants, but I didn’t have an issue as a little bit of work turned it into plenty of lather. Slickness felt okay and I didn’t pick up any nicks. My neck was very good, with the only roughness limited to my usual trouble-spots. My face was nice and smooth WTG. ATG had some resistance but nothing serious. Nowhere got close to BBS though. Post shave feel was average, not bad on the softness but very dry. I got a good whiff of the fragrance at the start and it hung around after, but I don’t recall it much in between. It says sandalwood but it smells nothing like any other I’ve used. It’s quite cologne-like and much more woody. Not unpleasant but just smells generic — something I’ve found with the rest of the line. A good shave.
Give them credit, their product offers consistent performance and it’s good across the range.
I didn’t have any problems with lather or protection, based on this one shave.
The end result was fine, although not especially close. It was more than serviceable though.
The sandalwood fragrance wasn’t my favourite blend. As I’ve found with many of their scents, it’s too cologne-like and you seem to lose any nuance.
Still, a solid performer.
